Pre-amplifiers can be used for the reception, but not necessarily required for registration. Depends on what you save. The other answer is correct, a preamplifier, a signal increase of reducing fairly standard line "or" AUX "level. Preamps microphones and turntables must, if the signal is too weak to do anything. Anyway if you are recording or live -do sound. A blender is also a pre-amp in many cases. For the record, it is common to have multiple microphones. Connect the microphone to a mixing console, which also as a preamp. You can then "mix" microphones. This means you can adjust the level of each microphone so that every vote is the level you want for your application. You can also use the balance of the MIC, the right of adaptation, in the middle or in a stereo configuration on the left .

In general, a preamplifier is used to a very weak signal for what is known as line-level drive, an example of the signal level from a cassette on a turntable if microvolt resolve millivolts to a stereo amplifier with a preamplifier use to be strengthened to levels too low to be much higher level (level line) line level, the tension, the CD player and know-recorder through its RCA outputs (usually RCA) / height Line amplifier through in order to strengthen the intensity from the forums

I understand this reaction is like a dog s ** t, but it was the best way I could be :-)

Hope this helps

Preamplifier is not a recording device. This is a signal booster, but has no internal capacity for the storage or recording.
